The University of Florida Gator’s dominate pitching stops the offensive Florida State Seminoles.
Freshman, Garrett Milchin, got the nod for his first-ever start at the collegiate level on a grand stage against the No. 19 Seminoles.
Milchin didn’t let up a single run as he pitched 4.1 innings and allowed only two hits as he picked up, not only another win for the Gators, but his first in a Gator uniform.
Milchin consistently threw 88 to 92 miles per hour and kept the Seminoles on their toes with his changeup and sinker.
For the second time this season, the Gators use another freshman pitcher against the in-state rival after having success with freshman pitcher, Nate Brown, in their first meeting earlier this season.
The Gators beat the Seminoles four to one after catcher, Mike Rivera, gave them a early lead as he ripped a three-run homer right off the bat in the first inning.
This was the second game of the Florida Sunshine Showdown. This game was played at a neutral site in Jacksonville, Florida on March 28, 2017.
Maybe we’ll see another freshman pitcher on the mound for the Gators when they look to complete the sweep of the Seminoles when they travel to Tallahassee on April 11, 2017.
